This is truly the Rolls Royce of cream teas nothing will ever live up to this From the delicious sandwiches from the home made bread and generous fillings to the delicate flavours of the cakes and sweet offerings it’s just simply the best.
Combined with the sweetest and nicest server ever what’s not to love ?
Thank-you for a wonderful afternoon Coughlan’s you’re the best.
Olde World Service I had the pleasure of dining at Coughlans with my wife last Sunday lunchtime and what a pleasure it was. Excellent surroundings on the edge of a rural estate with ample parking. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced and the service was immaculate. It was just a treat to be waited upon by polite experienced staff who know how to serve people with a friendly relaxed manner. I highly recommend this restaurant and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Loved it.
Very impressive indeed Our first visit here with friends and found Coughlans very impressive. Tucked away in Barningham but easy to find.
Small and intimate dining space, fabulous food from albeit a small menu and wonderful service. For such quality, both food and wine are NOT overpriced and it represents very good value
Evening 3 course meal We visited here for the first time in a Thursday evening.
We arrived and there was plenty of parking, it’s a beautiful building from the outside and tastefully decorated inside. We were met in the porch way by a friendly staff and shown to our table.
The menu choice was for a 3,4 or 5 course meal we opted for the 3 courses.
We choose the starter of ham terrines and heritage tomatoes for starters. For mains we choose the sea bass with Thai stir fry and the wood pigeon. For puddings we choose the sticky toffee pudding and Elton mess.
All the food was presented nicely and very tasty. The complimentary bread and butter was lovely and first place I have been that gives you a selection of butter.
We would recommend a visit here. We have noticed they are currently on group on for a sparkling afternoon tea so will book this abs go back.
Relaxing atmosphere 2nd visit for afternoon tea. Barningham well signposted but we still managed to miss a clear signpost. Quick call to restaurant and a friendly voice answered quickly and gave us clear directions. Arrived a bit stressed but as soon as we entered restaurant we relaxed in the friendly calm atmosphere. A fantastic traditional afternoon tea was served. All homemade and plenty of it. Staff were friendly and efficient. Visited attached shop which sold wide range of locally produced bread, cakes, eggs and Fentimans all of same quality as in restaurant. Definitely coming back. Might try full meal next time.
